Hiring Range: $17.00 - $22.00/hr DOE

Position Summary:

The Refugee Resource Case Manager plays a critical role in supporting refugee, SIV, asylee, and humanitarian parolee clients who are nearing the end of their service period with CCS Resettlement Case Managers. This position provides services, connections, and referrals to empower each client towards self-sufficiency by collaborating to develop a post-case management plan.


Essential Functions:

  • Research, identify, and develop relationships with organizations and services that will support clients' ongoing needs after their CCS resettlement period.
  • Work with existing CCS partnerships.
  • Develop new community partnerships and other resources.
  • Collaborate with each client to develop a personalized post-case management plan that reflects the client's self-sufficiency goals, strengths, and needs. Work with the client to identify specific actions they will take to achieve their goals and provide information to connect them with organizations and resources that can help. Refer clients to services and organizations through warm or soft handoffs as appropriate.
  • Communicate the client's CCS case closure processes clearly and respectfully to them.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case notes that capture all interactions with clients.
  • Document post-resettlement case management plans in client case files.
  • Attend regularly scheduled case management and staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with job developers, youth and health teams, volunteer programs, other CCS staff, state agencies, and service providers in providing reports, documents, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • This is a sedentary role but does involve some filing. The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary is required.

Work Environment

  • This position is in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • Some local travel is required.

  • Proficiency in English oral and written communication
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding clients
  • Proficiency in computer skills to maintain financial data, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, and e-mail in Outlook Office 365
  • Personal qualities of openness and respect for co-workers and clients, with compassion and graciousness in helping clients to assess and face their situations, and to accept assistance
  • Proficiency or fluency in one or more of the following languages is an advantage: Dari, Pashto, Swahili, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, and Arabic.

Education, Training and Experience

  • Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or diverse populations
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years working as a case manager or similar position is strongly preferred

Background Screening Requirement

  • Must be able to pass a national BCI/FBI background check.

Licenses, certifications, and credentials

  • Current Utah driver's license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.

Position status and expected schedule

  • This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
  • Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, sometimes past 5:00 pm or on weekends according to client needs.
